The traditional NRCC Christmas Event, 1 December 2010
On the 1st of December, the traditional NRCC Christmas Event took place in the facilities of Telenor, Fornebu. More than 60 people attended the event, including the NRCC Honorary guests, the Ambassador of the Russian Federation to the Kingdom of Norway, his Excellency Vyacheslav Pavlovskiy, and other representatives from the Embassy and the Russian Trade Representation.
The Polar Explorer Mr. B?rge Ousland who has more than 20 years? experience with record-breaking Arctic and Antarctic expedition, gave a presentation of his latest expedition - Northern Passage 2010. The aim of this expedition was to sail through both the Northwest and Northeast passages during one and the same season.
After the speech Managing Director of the NRCC Mr. Jarle Forbord has presented a brief overview over the most important events and activities carried out by the NRCC in 2010. Close to 2000 business executives have taken part in NRCC events throughout the year in Oslo, Kongsberg, St. Petersburg, Arkhangelsk, Moscow, Murmansk and Kaliningrad.
The NRCC Outstanding Contribution Awards 2010 was this year presented former President of Statoil Russia and Member of the NRCC Council, Mr. Bengt Lie Hansen for his profound knowledge, understanding and commitment to the work of the Chamber and Mr. Kjell Lund, former Vice President of DnB NOR and member of the NRCC Programme Committee for his practical support, constructive ideas and active support to the NRCC during all these years.
After the formal part, the participants had a dinner with Eurovision-inspired entertainment. During the dinner H.E. ambassador Vyacheslav Pavlovvskiy and Mr. Thomas G. Michelet, Chairman of the NRCC and Mrs. Irina N. Roddvik , Vice President External Affairs Central and Eastern Europe, Telenor Group led the social part of the event which also included entertainment the members highly appreciated.
